Elio Fiorucci,The World’s Favorite Fashion Merchant, Died At The Age Of 80
Elio Fiorucci opened the first shop that really helped to familiarize Milan with the unconventional styles of fashion that America and Europe adopted. Denim, jeans and printed t-shirts, Fiorucci founded the Fiorucci clothing brand in 1967. What we find exclusive to Elio Fiorucci’s legacy is that Fiorucci was a universal designer, compiling his materials from many different regions around the world. When Fiorucci opened his store on East 59th street near Park Ave, his jeans were embraced by major key players in fashion such as Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, interior designer Jim Walrod, and even Madonna. You heard right!!! Even the best designers of all time bought jeans from Fiorucci.
Yesterday the incredible Fiorucci died in his Milan home at the age of 80. Fiorucci dedicated his life to being a business man, but more importantly dedicated his life to art and fashion. Elio Fiorucci was a gracious and humble man who touched many hearts in the industry. From Giorgio Armani to Carlo Rivetti, the memory of Elio Fiorucci still lives on.
